Le Marche
If you were to ask 25 regular visitors to Italy what Le Marche is, then perhaps 5 would know where it is situated, and 3 would be able to recall some place names. You could therefore easily be fooled into thinking that Le Marche is not really a region suited for vacation. On the contrary! Le Marche is put more and more in the spotlight. For example at Vacation and SecondHome conventions and in the media (Le Marche is a frequent feature on television broadcasts).
Consistent rumour is spreading that “Le Marche is the new Tuscany”. We in Le Marche, must admit, are proud of this praise. Proud mainly because for years Le Marche has always had to look up to the mighty Tuscany in the west. Admittedly, the comparison of Le Marche to that of Tuscany does not do it justice. Le Marche is not Tuscany nor is it the ‘new’ Tuscany. Le Marche is Le Marche, and that by itself is something to be proud of!
With us in Le Marche you find a perfect mix of rest, space, culture, culinary highlights, warm hospitality, and a sublime and versatile natural environment.
One of the many charming aspects about Le Marche is that everything is still in its right proportion. You will not find maddening crowds of tourists swarming around a popular tourist attraction in search for that perfect snapshot. Instead you find undiscovered rustic towns with unspoiled castles, where for € 1,10 you can still enjoy a creamy cappuccino on the central square just under the castle wall.
All these types of villages lay dreamily amongst the rolling hills. As you move inwards away from the coast, the hills give way to impressive mountainous terrain. The vegetation varies enormously. Near the coast you will find plenty of land fit for agriculture. More into the interior these agricultural fields are accompanied by luscious grapevines and olive trees and scattered woodlands. Here you don’t need a lot of luck to catch a glimpse of the many kinds of large game. Deer and wild pigs are abundant here in Le Marche.
The inhabitants of Le Marche have a somewhat coarse friendliness about them, which at first glance seems like they intend to keep you at bay. You quickly discover this to be far from the truth when you approach them with a few words of Italian. A fountain of hearty conversation will subsequently be poured upon you and they will almost seems to want to adopt you into their family. Especially when you indulge in culinary topics of conversation! After all, the love from the people of Le Marche passes through the stomach. And believe you me when we say that their stomachs are given a lot of love! Just one glance at the delicious and plentiful produce available all year round is enough to make your mouth water. One of the most renowned culinary treat in this region is of course the truffle. In some parts of Le Marche this specialty is even being cultivated.
In short, Le Marche is more than capable in providing the right ingredients for a fantastic vacation: beautiful natural environment, oceans of rest, friendly locals, and divine food for an honest price. We are proud to invite you to come and discover Le Marche for yourselves and will happily lend a hand in doing so.
